  • General Information: Beds: 9; typical census of 6
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Acute Respiratory Syndrome, Sepsis, Severe Heart Failure, Close observation post-operatively, Intubation and ventilator management, Cardiac, Insulin and Vasoactive Drips, Occasionally Pediatric patients (1-2 every 12 months)
  • Patient Ratios: RN : 1:2-3
  • Skills required: Performs patient assessments, formulates nursing diagnoses, and develops/documents nursing care plans, Implements care plans and makes revision accordingly, Evaluates patient care outcomes, Accomplishes assigned aspects of the physician's treatment plan, Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team, Performs clinical and technical patient care procedures, and assists physicians with treatments and procedures, Documents nursing observations, assessment, medications, treatments and other care given, Communicates with patients and oversees the provision of care for their personal needs, Provides patient and/or family with instruction and education relevant to patient's condition, Coordinates patient care, admissions, transfers and discharges with patient care
  • Support on the Unit: Unit Assistant Monday- Friday from 7am-3:30pm, Charge nurse, Phlebotomy, Resource Nurse, RT, Hospitalist, Bedside
  • Technology/Equipment: EMR: Cerner Community Works, IV pumps: ICU Medical Plum 360, Medication dispensing: Omnicell, Monitors: Phillips
  • Floating: 6th floor - Telemetry/Med-Surg department
  • Orientation: Must complete nursing modules, 1 - 12 hr shift orientation in the department

    • Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? If not, what is the minimum # of years required? 2 years
    • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
    • Required Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS, CPI (preferred), PALS (preferred), NIHSS (preferred)
      • Schedule Information
      • Required Weekend rotation: every other weekend

      • Holiday Expectations: Manager approval required
