Job Description:
FHI 360 is seeking a Technical Advisor to fill one of the key
positions of the Enhanced Global Health Security (EGHS) project.
Reporting to the Project Director and working closely with the
project's team, the technical advisor will provide overall
technical guidance on different technical and programmatic aspects
of the anticipated Global Health Security (GHS) project in
different countries where the project is implemented. They will
provide the required technical assistance and strategic guidance to
country-based technical leads in preventing avoidable epidemics and
outbreaks and enhancing the countries' abilities to rapidly detect
and respond effectively to public health threats.The Technical
Advisor will provide technical leadership and oversight for
different components of the GHS projects' relevant activities. They
will assist in the development of donor reports and presentations,
and provide significant input to business development. This will
also entail contributing to developing programmatic' s indicators
for use by country teams to monitor the progress of planned
activities.This position is contingent on donor funding and the
award of the project to FHI 360.Accountabilities
- Provides technical leadership and oversight for different
components of the GHS projects' relevant activities.
- Works on problems of moderate to complex scope that require
evaluation of variable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in
selecting appropriate technical and strategic approaches, methods,
techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions, with
some supervision.
- Networks with key internal personnel.
- Provides input to senior technical leadership on national
guidelines and normative policies for subject matter areas of
expertise
- Performs duties related to: project design and implementation,
business development, partner and sub-award management, capacity
building and training, operations management, project reporting and
quality assurance.Applied Knowledge & Skills
- Ensures appropriate and timely technical support for technical
teams of projects implemented in varying countries. .
- In-depth functional knowledge around specialization and
detailed knowledge of related areas in the organization.
- Ensures the quality of implemented technical activities and
systems at all both strategic and operational levels. Conducts
routine coordination with employees and consultants, on-site and in
the field.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to reach mutual points of
agreement and benefit among peers and colleagues.
- Has the ability to manage projects, set realistic priorities,
and plan for the successful implementation of activities
- Relevant computer software skills (including, at a minimum, the
standard applications in MS Office).
- Ability to manage their own work to job and performance
standards.EducationMaster's Degree or its International Equivalent
in Environment, Health, , Life/Social Sciences International
Development, Human Development or Related Field.Project Management
(PM) Certification preferred.Experience
- A minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in technical
implementation of large projects and/or programs.
- Minimum of 8 years of prior experience and/or considerable
knowledge of Global Health Security, One Health, and related
technical areas such as, but not limited to Antimicrobial
Resistance (AMR), surveillance, Infection Prevention and Control
(IP&C), and strengthening laboratory and diagnostic capacities
is preferred.
- Documented experience providing technical assistance, capacity
building and business development in the specific technical
domain.
- In-depth functional knowledge around specialization and
detailed knowledge of related areas in the organization.
- Proficient writing and verbal communication skills. Must be
able to read, write and speak fluent English.Technology to be

expected US Basedhiringsalary range for this role is listed below.
Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary
by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360
factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to:
relevant years of experience and education possessed by the
applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.Base salary
is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of
monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account.
Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is
calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per
year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time
off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time
schedule.US Based Hiring Salary Range:$115,000 -
$135,000International hiring ranges will differ based on
