• As a General PME Inspector

  --- Starting pay based on experience and certifications ranging from $23.94/hr. to $37.00/hr.
  --- Two years' experience in the construction industry.
  --- Note: If you hold a 4-year degree in an architectural, engineering or construction-related field you can qualify for a probationary level II certificate.
• As a Senior PME Inspector
  --- Starting pay based on experience and certifications ranging from $26.33/hr. to $44.76/hr.
  --- Must hold a Standard Level III Building Inspections certificate.
  --- Five years of experience in the construction industry.Here's how to find out your certification rating: The North Carolina Code Officials Qualification (NC-COQB) Board determines certification eligibility for a NC Code Enforcement Certification and is required as part of this application process.How we can benefit you:

  --- Assist customers by reviewing construction plans to verify compliance with the North Carolina Technical Codes and Wake County ordinances.
  --- Answer questions related to building codes and Wake County procedures, policies and development ordinances.
  --- Troubleshoot site development issues and collaborate in pre-submittal meetings.
  --- Regular communication with architects, engineers and designers to eliminate possible code violations.
  --- Work directly with homeowners to help them understand the various requirements.About Our TeamWake County Permits and Inspections is responsible for permitting and inspection of construction in the unincorporated areas of Wake County as well as the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Research Triangle Park and provides inspection services to the towns of Knightdale, Rolesville, Wendell and Zebulon.The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in the construction industry
• Standard Level II Code Official Certification required in Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical trades within 4 years of hire
• Equivalent education and experience are acceptedBeyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)How Will We Know You're 'The One'?

  • General knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices
  • Technical knowledge of the building construction trade
